About Halo Ageless Skin
The Halo hybrid fractional laser delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to provide younger-looking skin with little downtime. It can treat and reduce signs of aging on the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, and legs. The ablative wavelengths work to remove the outermost layer of skin. This can remove imperfections like discoloration and uneven pigmentation by replacing the visible skin with a fresh layer. (1) The non-ablative wavelengths heat up the inner layers of skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two important structural proteins. (2) This has a healing effect on the skin that can improve its texture and reduce wrinkles and fine lines, as well as reduce the downtime for recovery from the ablative resurfacing. The fractional nature of the laser means that it can target specific areas of the skin that could benefit from treatment, while leaving other areas intact. This allows for effective results with a quicker recovery than traditional lasers.

Preparation
Preparing for your Halo Ageless Skin procedure can help improve your results and make your treatment experience easier. You should begin these preparation protocols two weeks before your first procedure.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds. Being sunburnt or tanned can cause irritation and lead to pigmentation issues.
- Do not remove hair from your treatment area through tweezing, waxing, or with hair-removal creams. This can cause unnecessary sensitivity and may lead to complications in combination with your laser treatment.
- Avoid the use of acidic skin care products, as well as products that contain retinol, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide.
- Maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to improve your ability to heal
- Avoid smoking tobacco. This can cause negative health effects that can slow healing and cause complications.
When you come in for your procedure, do not apply any makeup or lotion to your treatment area beforehand.
Halo Ageless Skin Procedure
At Swan Medical, our Halo Ageless Skin procedures typically take from twenty minutes to an hour to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area and the details of your customized treatment. We will begin your procedure by administering a topical anesthetic to avoid any potential discomfort. One of our expert practitioners will then use the Halo laser instrument on your skin, applying both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths at the same time. You may experience some tingling heat from the lasers during your procedure. At the end of your treatment, we will put a special moisturizer on your skin to help with healing. You may go home as soon as the procedure is complete.
Recovery
In the first few hours of your procedure, you may continue to feel the heat from the laser energy. You can apply an ice pack to your treatment area to help. For the first couple of days, you may experience redness, itching, and sensitivity. These symptoms should gradually resolve themselves over time. After one week, your skin will begin to peel and flake off to reveal your new and improved layer of skin. Avoid strenuous activity and sun exposure during this time.
Results
Shortly after your Halo Ageless Skin treatment, your skin will peel, revealing luminous and healthy skin beneath. It may be pink for several weeks, but it will slowly fade into your normal skin tone. The collagen and elastin production that the treatment initiates will take several weeks to reveal its effects. Once it does, you will see gradual improvements in the quality of your skin for up to six months. Your results will be long-lasting, and you can prolong them by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
At Swan Medical, we offer additional procedures that can enhance the aesthetic effects of your Halo Ageless Skin treatment.
Injectables
Injectables are a group of cosmetic treatments that can improve the appearance of the skin and combat signs of aging.
Neuromodulators are one type of injectable that contain botulinum, a substance that can reduce wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing targeted muscles within the face. They accomplish this by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a chemical that triggers muscle contraction. This treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles by smoothing the skin and preventing the formation of new wrinkles by stopping further muscle contraction. Two neuromodulators that we offer are BOTOX and XEOMIN. They are different in that XEOMIN is uniquely purified and contains no additional proteins, which can help to prevent antibody resistance, a potential risk of neuromodulator treatment.
Another injectable treatment that we provide is dermal fillers, such as the Juvéderm line. This selection of five different fillers offers differing formulations of hyaluronic acid gel. This primary ingredient is a natural substance that can promote moisture retention within the skin. When we inject the hyaluronic acid, it adds volume, stretching the skin and reducing wrinkles. The added moisture can also improve the texture and appearance of the skin.
SkinTyte
SkinTyte is a cosmetic treatment that can rejuvenate and tighten the skin. It utilizes infrared light energy to stimulate collagen production. This can heal damaged skin cells and promote the creation of new and healthy ones. This can make the skin firmer, reducing the appearance of mild wrinkles and fine lines. You can receive SkinTyte treatment shortly after your Halo Ageless Skin treatment to increase the production of collagen and enhance your results. You can also receive this treatment to prolong your youthful-looking appearance after your initial results have begun to fade.

FAQ
What is recovery from the Halo hybrid fractional laser like?
The Halo hybrid fractional laser requires less downtime than traditional laser treatments while delivering the same quality of aesthetic results. It accomplishes this in two ways: initiating production of collagen that quickens the healing process, and providing fractional resurfacing that only treats the areas of the skin that need it. Your skin will peel off to reveal its new and improved layer after about one week. You may experience some redness and sensitivity during this time, but these symptoms should resolve quickly.
How many treatment sessions will I need for my Halo Ageless Skin treatment?
The number of treatment sessions that you need for a complete Halo Ageless Skin treatment will depend on your preferences and the severity of your symptoms. You can choose to undergo one or two intensive treatments, or spread them out into several less aggressive sessions.
When will I see results after my Halo Ageless Skin treatment?
You will be able to see the results of the ablative wavelength after about one week, when the affected skin has healed. The non-ablative wavelength which promotes new collagen production will show its results after several weeks when it has begun to take effect and improve the health of your skin.
