Preparation

To prepare for your treatment, you should stop drinking alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. You should also stop taking anti-inflammatory medications or supplements to reduce the risk of bruising after your treatment. If you use skincare products that contain salicylic acid, we recommend that you stop using them in the weeks leading up to your appointment for optimal results. Depending on your treatment plan, we can provide specific instructions to help you prepare.

Treatment Process

On the day of your treatment, you must arrive with clean skin, without makeup and/or skincare products. First, we will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream. Next, we will use the SkinPen device to penetrate the skin with tiny needles that increase your skin’s levels of collagen production. You may feel light pressure during the treatment, and some patients experience a mild buzzing sensation. We can address multiple areas during a single appointment.

After Your Treatment

After your treatment, you may experience some temporary redness similar to the appearance of a mild sunburn. Some patients also experience dryness, tightness, and/or peeling. These symptoms typically subside in 24-72 hours. We recommend that you avoid wearing makeup and refrain from swimming for approximately 72 hours to prevent skin irritation. You should also avoid excessive sun exposure and wear sunscreen whenever going outside.

Results

After several weeks, you can enjoy a significant improvement in the appearance of your skin.
