MOXI Laser
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Los Gatos, Danville and San Jose

MOXI (MOXI®) is a gentle yet powerful laser that can restore the health and appearance of your skin. MOXI is safe for all skin tones and types, and it can address visible signs of aging, pigmentation, lesions, uneven skin texturing, and more.
MOXI is a non-ablative laser, which means it heats the underlying layers of your tissue to stimulate collagen production without damaging your skin’s surface. The laser targets the water found within the skin instead, creating a controlled thermal increase.
This triggers your body’s regenerative properties, leading to an increased production of collagen, skin cell turnover, and skin remodeling, contributing to a more radiant and youthful look. (1)
The team at Swan Medical is dedicated to helping each patient enhance their health, appearance, and well-being with a wide range of natural treatments and cutting-edge technology like MOXI.

About the MOXI Laser
The MOXI laser is a cutting-edge treatment that utilizes laser energy to revitalize the health and appearance of your skin.
The skin is the largest organ of the body, covering its entire external surface. (2) Several factors are constantly affecting the skin, such as gravity, UV exposure, lifestyle habits, and more. As these different factors wear on the skin, they can result in visible signs of aging, pigmented lesions, uneven skin texture, and more. Our team of specialists can use MOXI to help you refresh your appearance, helping you look as youthful as you feel.
Benefits
MOXI offers many benefits, such as:
- Stimulated Collagen Production: MOXI enhances your skin’s collagen levels, which is an essential component for maintaining your skin’s health, elasticity, and appearance.
- Revitalized Appearance: MOXI can effectively reduce visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, creases, and fine lines, allowing you to achieve a more youthful look.
- Refined Skin Texture: This treatment can address rough and uneven skin texture for smoother, softer, and more even skin.
- Reduced Pigmentation Concerns: The laser treatment can target and reduce the appearance of dark spots, freckles, and other pigmentation irregularities.
- Versatile Application: In addition to the face, MOXI can effectively address concerns on the arms, neck, chest, hands, and legs. (3)
- Customized Procedure: Our specialists tailor each treatment plan according to your specific skin type, concerns, and desired outcomes.
Candidates
Suitable candidates for MOXI laser include anyone interested in enhancing the appearance, health, and overall quality of their skin. MOXI is especially effective for addressing sun damage, rough or bumpy patches of skin, and uneven skin tone. This treatment can also soften early signs of aging, such as fine lines or creases. Our team of specialists will determine each patient’s candidacy during their consultation.
Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation, one of our specialists will meet with you to discuss each detail of your treatment. They will ask about your medical history, current prescriptions, skin concerns, and desired outcomes. They will then perform a physical examination to thoroughly assess the quality of your skin.
Using this information, your specialist will help you determine the most effective treatment plan for your goals. Throughout the consultation, they will also address any questions or concerns you may have about your treatment, as this consultation is time dedicated exclusively to you.
To schedule this consultation, please contact us online or call (925) 905-9922.
Preparation
Your specialist will provide a set of pre-treatment instructions to help you prepare for your MOXI laser session. These instructions are minimal, but following them closely will ensure the best possible results.
For example, your specialist may instruct you to temporarily refrain from using harsh or acidic skincare products leading up to your appointment. These may include chemical exfoliants, retinoids, and retinols, and more. You should also make sure you are protecting your skin by wearing the proper sun protection when leaving the house. On the day of your treatment, we ask that you arrive with clean skin that is free of any makeup or skincare products. You should also remove any facial jewelry ahead of time.
Procedure
When you arrive for your procedure, a member of our team will lead you to a private treatment room where they will cleanse and sanitize your skin. The most common area to treat is the face, but MOXI can also enhance the appearance of your neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs. After cleaning the targeted treatment area, your specialist may apply a topical anesthetic to provide a more comfortable experience overall.
Your specialist will then use the MOXI device on your skin, passing it over the targeted treatment area multiple times. As the device moves over the treatment area, it will administer pulses of laser energy. Your specialist will continue to repeat this motion until evenly applied. After addressing the targeted areas, your specialist will apply a soothing ointment to help calm your skin and reduce redness.
Recovery
The MOXI laser is associated with minimal downtime compared to other lasers. However, patients may experience some temporary side effects as their skin heals. This may include:
- A feeling of warmth in the treated area for 12-24 hours
- Lingering redness for up to 7 days
- MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) on days 2-3. These look like tiny dark spots
- Skin may feel dry and rough before it peels
- Swelling (usually under the eyes) that typically lasts 2-4 days
Here are some things you can do after your treatment to minimize these side effects:
- Cleanse your skin twice daily with lukewarm water and gentle cleansers
- Use adequate moisturizer and stay out of the sun
- Avoid scrubbing, exfoliating, or harsh treatments/products
- Sleep in a more upright position and apply cold compresses to reduce redness/swelling
- Use mineral water sprays for additional relief
- Use sunscreen with SPF 30 daily and for up to 3 months after treatment, reapplying often
- Refrain from wearing makeup until 24 hours have passed
Results
You will be able to see improvements in the appearance and firmness of your skin as early as one week after your initial MOXI treatment, with the full results becoming more apparent as your collagen levels continue to rise. After clearing rough patches, you will be able to experience smoother, softer, and more even-toned skin. MOXI will also reduce and soften visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, creases, and fine lines, especially after you complete your full treatment series.
Corresponding Procedures
MOXI can be effectively paired with other procedures to help you achieve more radiant results, one of which is our Broadband Light IPL Photofacial!
The BroadBand Light (BBL) IPL Photofacial is an advanced light treatment that refines the appearance of your skin. This treatment is an advanced variation of the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial, and it can address acne, freckles, age spots, rosacea, and more. Your specialist can pair this treatment with your MOXI laser treatment to address superficial pigmented blemishes, all while the laser treatment rejuvenates your deeper, underlying tissues.
