About O-Shots
The O-Shot is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that utilizes the regenerative properties of blood to enhance your sexual wellness. This treatment uses a small blood sample to create a concentrated solution, also known as PRP. Carefully administering the serum to the clitoris and periurethral tissues improves blood flow, stimulates collagen, and encourages regeneration in your intimate region.
More About PRP
Platelet-rich plasma harnesses the natural healing properties of platelet-derived growth factors to help stimulate tissue regeneration and repair in the body. PRP has a higher platelet count than average blood, often consisting of two to seven times the amount of whole blood. (1) Professionals widely use PRP across several different medical specialties, including aesthetics, gynecology, urology, sports medicine, and orthopedics. (3) Because this treatment derives from the patient’s own blood, it has high biocompatibility and lowered risks of allergic reaction or complications. (3)
Benefits
The O-Shot offers several important benefits, including:
- Improved Vaginal Health: Many women report an improvement in their response to arousal and vaginal function after receiving the O-Shot.
- Stimulated Tissue Regeneration: The O-Shot can help increase blood flow and collagen production in the treatment area, leading to improved elasticity, health, and overall quality of your vaginal tissues.
- Enhanced Intimate Satisfaction: Because this treatment helps increase blood flow to the treatment area, many patients find their sexual encounters are more satisfying and that their orgasms feel stronger and more enjoyable.
- Non-Surgical Treatment: The O-Shot can help you revitalize your vaginal health and sexual wellness without requiring the use of incisions or anesthesia.
- Natural Solution: The O-Shot is made from your own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or complications.
- Lasting Results: The results of the O-Shot can last between one and two years before we recommend receiving a follow-up treatment.
Candidates
Candidates for the O-Shot typically include women interested in reducing any discomfort or frustrations during sex from vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence, or difficulties achieving orgasm. Those interested in improving the health of their vaginal tissue may also make suitable candidates for this treatment.
Anyone interested in the O-Shot should be in good general health and hold realistic expectations regarding the results of their treatment. One of our specialists will determine each patient’s candidacy for the O-Shot during their consultation.
Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation, you will meet one of our specialists at the office of your choice. They will explain what the O-Shot is and how it works to enhance your sexual and vaginal health. The specialist will ask you about your medical history, current prescriptions, concerns, and treatment goals. They will also perform a physical examination to evaluate the treatment area. They will use this information to create your treatment plan.
To schedule this consultation, fill out our online contact form. If you have any questions or would prefer scheduling over the phone, please call (925) 905-9922 to reach our Danville or Los Gatos offices.
Preparation
To prepare for your treatment, you will need to discontinue using medications and supplements with blood-thinning properties. Patients need to avoid alcohol for several days before and after the treatment, and they should arrange transportation home after the procedure. We also strongly recommend staying hydrated and maintaining a nutritious and balanced diet leading up to the appointment. In addition to these guidelines, we will provide additional detailed preparation instructions during your personal consultation.
Procedure
When you arrive for your procedure, we will lead you to a private treatment room, then cleanse and sanitize your skin before drawing blood. We will then process this sample through a PRP harvesting centrifuge, which separates platelet-rich plasma from other components.
The specialist will then carefully inject the PRP into various sites of the vaginal area. These may include areas near the clitoris, posterior and anterior vaginal walls, or urethra, but this varies depending on your concerns and the details we establish during your consultation. In any case, your specialist will intentionally inject areas that will help improve your sensitivity, address incontinence, restore natural lubrication, and enhance the health of your vaginal tissues.
Local anesthetic ensures comfort throughout the procedure.
Recovery
After completing your injections, you can return to your daily routine, but you will need to follow certain guidelines as your body heals. You will need to refrain from tampon use, sexual activity, and physical exercise for the first 24-48 hours after your appointment. You may also experience temporary swelling or bruising near the treatment area, but these effects are temporary, and we will give you instructions for managing them.
Results
The O-Shot offers gradual results, meaning that you will start to notice improvements in the weeks following your treatment. You may experience improvements in your natural lubrication, as well as more enjoyable and satisfying experiences during intimate moments. You may also experience tighter and more elastic vaginal tissue. The O-Shot produces long-lasting results, allowing you to enjoy improvements for several months to a year before we may recommend re-treatment.
Corresponding Procedures
There are several treatments we can perform alongside the O-Shot for further rejuvenation, with one of our most popular options being the DiVa hybrid fractional laser.
DiVa is a vaginal rejuvenation treatment that uses laser technology to alleviate various vaginal concerns, such as vaginal dryness, inflammation, urinary incontinence, and thinning of vaginal tissue. This treatment helps stimulate collagen production within the vaginal canal, enhancing the elasticity, firmness, and health of your tissues. As a result, many women return to their lives feeling more confident and comfortable in their bodies.
